Collection: Mixing Console Flight Cases

5 Star manufacture Mixing Console flight cases, also know as mixer cases or console cases, not only for lighting desks but audio consoles & video switchers/mixers too. There are many variations on the theme of mixing console flight cases due to the sheer number of different types, sizes and configurations of the sound mixing desks around the world. Aside from the standard mixing console style, the most popular style for larger mixing consoles is the nosecone flight case.

All styles of mixer flight cases are available with or without a loom box (also known as a dog box) at the rear. Loom boxes help with cable management at the rear of the console and usually include access slots at each side. As a rule, modern lighting consoles do not require a rear loom box due to the reduced number of cables used, however, the choice is yours… we will design and build the flight case to your requirements.

These loom boxes are CNC-machined plywood assemblies that are sanded and texture sprayed to enhance the appearance, to compliment what can very often be a huge investment in the console. Loom boxes can also be heavily customised too, whether it’s just tweaking the shape to follow the console’s geometry or engraving your logo or model number of the console into the support panels, flaps or side cheeks.

For larger mixer flight case designs we recommend a minimum of Heavy Industrial specification, although for added strength and durability on the road we also offer the Tour Grade and Super Tour specifications. All our cases are produced using quality hardware, predominantly from Penn Elcom.

Standard Mixing Console Cases

Shown on this page is a relatively simple design of a 'use-in-base' mixing console flight case. The 'use-in-base' style is a staple of mixer flight cases as it allows the console to be set up in the case once and then transported and used in the case without having to be removed and placed back into the case each time.

Nosecone Console Cases

Nosecone console cases are the most complex design of the mixing console flight cases. This style is predominantly used for audio consoles due to the increased cabling, especially with the older analogue versions, although it can be specified for lighting desks too. The difference between the nosecone flight case version and the standard mixing console case layout is the addition of the front removable lid. This nosecone lid is usually required to access built-in keyboard trays that slide out from under the fader area of the console.
